Francesco Lucchese


He was born in Italy in 1960 and graduated from the School of Architecture at Politecnico di Milano (the Polytechnic University of Milan). He won the first Design Medal of Associazione per il Disegno Industriale (the Association of Industrial Design of Italy)  with a chair he designed, where he started his career as designer.


Francesco Lucchese, director of ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale), has participated in construction and interior design projects in Italy and other countries. He also serves as a designer for exhibition halls and flagship stores of various brands that cover such areas as furniture, cooking utensils and sanitary wares, in Shanghai and other cities in China. Furthermore, he designed his private residence into a studio of his own. As a professor in the School of Design, Politecnico di Milano, he was repeatedly invited to international academic conferences, design forums and seminars among different colleges.


His motto: To picture the present with the past, and to envision the future with the present.
